Since 1980 Mark has worked for two Springfield advertising agencies before starting his own graphic design company in 1985 with a former client. Inspired by design legends of the 1940s and 50s, Mark's bold and dramatic style and innovative thinking has blazed a trail in all areas of design. Mark's work has been the recipient of many awards for design excellence, including local and regional ADDY awards. Mark has an extensive background in entertainment and tourism marketing as well as retail marketing for the automotive industry. Mark's work has been featured in international publications like Robb Report Magazine, Nationwide Paper featured artists and in multiple magazines. Today he has picked up his pens, pencils and has migrated back to his earlier days of just having fun. Sketching, drawing and anything done in traditional mediums. Mark also passionately collects primitive antiques and 1950s artifacts for his home and studio, including a fine assortment of Tiki related items and lava lamps.
Mark recently finished a project involving a study of hot rods, classics and street rods in a series called Rods & Relics of Route 66. In Conjunction with WDA he hopes to offer these to wireless customers for download. Mark also donates his time to the North Springfield Betteerment Association with their Social Media and some of their graphic design needs. He also develops printed material for up and coming indie music acts as well as some established musicians. You can read his daily journal at his art blog coming this spring.
